ReplyDeleteWhat a great math question and I love that it is linked with Samoan language week. It has made me think about including questions like this in some of the math work I give my students.
I agree with your answers. 6x1 = 6, 6x3 = 18 so 6x5 = 30 therefore there must be 30 flowers on 5 siapo cloth.
I have a question for you. If you have 3 flowers on 1 cloth how many would 6 cloths of the same number have?

We had a fabulous celebration for Samoan language week, including a number of our learners wearing Samoan shirts. The Samoan flag flew from our flag pole, in place of the usual New Zealand one.
