Day 2 Home Learning from Whakarua 3

Day 2's shared learning is from Josh, Kate and Liam (see pictures below). These three made sure that their adverts were colourful and eye-catching, and they also used persuasive phrases to convince people to buy Juicy-O. Well done to everyone who has been trying hard to complete some tasks at home. We are all so proud of you!

Today's learning light from Whakarua 1 shines on.... Cadie, Patrizia and Matthew

Evening team, I was absolutely blown away with the work that was shared with me yesterday and I am equally as proud nearing the end of day 2. You guys are so awesome. Thank you. Everyone is doing what they can and that is great. Today's learning light from Whakarua 1 shines on three superstars.

Amazing Day 1 Work from Whakarua 4

I was so impressed by all the work I was sent on our first day of Term 2! I wish I could post all of it here but there was just too many to choose from. So I put together a few of my favourite into this Google Slide. Don't worry if yours isn't here because everyone who tries really hard will get a spotlight on the blog at some point. Home Learning from Whakarua 3

What a great first day of home learning! I hope you all enjoyed listening to the first chapter of our story, and completing your set tasks for the day. It has been wonderful to see all the hard work you are doing from your bubble. A big thank you to all our families who are supporting this home learning!

As Miss Goslin mentioned in the previous post, the Whakarua teachers will be choosing three children's work to share on the blog. Today from my home class, I have chosen Max, Eliza and Fynn.

Max has completed his literacy, maths and handwriting tasks. Max, it's awesome that you challenged yourself by doing the level 2 maths activity - ka pai! See a collage of Max's work below.

Next up is Eliza. She was up early this morning making a start on her home learning, and has chosen to send her work through on a Google Slide. Eliza, I can see how busy you have been by looking at your daily events that you sequenced in order. Good job!

Last but not least is Fynn's work - shown below in a pic collage. We can see Fynn watching Miss Goslin read chapter 1 of our story, as well as his handwriting, maths and literacy tasks (and a bit of break time bouncing on the trampoline!). Fynn, I love the bright colours you have used to draw Dribble the Turtle, and it looks like you have tried really hard to keep your handwriting nice and neat. Well done!

Well done Whakarua! Keep up the hard work and enjoy this time at home with your whānau. Looking forward to seeing tomorrow's home learning! ☺

Todays learning light from Whakarua 1 shines on... Jessica, Oliver and Frank

Kia ora team! First day of home learning= done! I certainly enjoyed viewing and giving feedback on all the hard work that was done today and I know the other teachers did too. Thank you to those people who have sent their work through, it has really made our day! And thank you to the whanau who have been supporting our learners on this journey. Each day we will display 3 children's work from each of our 4 homerooms.

Today I have picked Jessica, Oliver and Frank from W1 to display their work on our blog. I wonder if you could leave a comment to let them know what you thought of it. I thought it was pretty awesome!

Jessica's one is the collage with the pink around the outside. Jess I love the way that you added pictures to your maths task today which was to create a day as sequenced events. Miss G is jealous you have included blueberries on your lunch piece (yum!). What do you watch on TV?

Next up is Oliver. Oliver, I love the way that you have compared Dribble the turtle to a dog by saying Dribble is not soft, fury or licks you! It is awesome to see you enjoying your chapter chat activities for literacy. Ka rawe!

Last but certainly not least is our smiley dude, Frank. Frank I just love how proud you look displaying your literacy work. Now that you have told us how many jellybeans there are in Mrs Fargo's Jellybean jar, I wonder if we will find out the flavours in the following chapters. What do you think they are?

We are so proud of our children. We hope you are as equally as proud. Until tomorrow.

Whakarua 1 Google Hangout

Kia ora team! This morning each of our homerooms had a Google Hangout to discuss our unique journey of 'home learning'. It was wonderful to see the kids and hear about their holidays (and discuss how much chocolate they had been eating- Miss G included!).
